A collaborative effort of the Sahitya Academy, Goa Writers’ Group, Harper Collins and the ICG, festival organisers say the December 12-14 meet will be the sounding board for what they hope will eventually grow into a major cultural event on the lines of the Jaipur Literature Festival.

The difference though, will be the more inclusive nature of the Goa festival with the involvement of musicians, painters, filmmakers, architects and designers apart from
writers.

Charles Correa, Remo Fernandes, Wendell Rodricks and Saeed Mirza are among some of those expected at the meet as well as poet Eunice De Souza and writers Maria Couto and Sudeep Chakravarti.

“There will be cross discussions, the screening of films, book readings and even some theatre,” says Konkani writer Damodar Mauzo.
