Katta back in Bangalore

Katta resigned after Lokayukta police filed an FIR for allegedly accepting bribe to allot land to an industrial firm in 2007, when he was minister for Industries.

As he reached his residence in Sadashivanagar, his supporters raised slogans in his support and hailed him innocent. Addressing the supporters, Naidu said he resigned only to save the party and the government from embarrassment. He apologised to his supporters for submitting his resignation without taking them into confidence.

Naidu said he would cooperate with the investigating agency and had confidence that he would come clean. “I am not an escapist. I will face the investigation and prove my innocence,” he said.
