Nehru Yuva Kendra invites applications
The Nehru Yuva Kendra invites applications from eligible candidates for the District Youth Awards for the year 2009-10.
Interested Yuvaka, Yuvathi and Mahila Mandalas from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts should submit their applications before July 25. Yuva Mandala should have served for the development of village during the period 2008-09 to qualify for the Yuva Mandala Prashasti. Selected Yuva Mandala will be given a cash award of Rs 10,000.
Individuals between the age group of 18 -35, who rendered meritorious service in the fields of environment protection, sports, culture, women awareness, vocation, education, cleanliness and rainwater harvesting during the period between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009, can apply for Yuva Prashasti. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and certificate. Those who bagged the award in the previous years will not be eligible for the award, stated a press release from the Mangalore Nehru Yuva Kendra.
