As a consequence, the State Cabinet meeting on Friday decided that the Chief Minister would not confront the Governor directly by sending his demarche to the President. It was decided that the party central leadership should handle the entire issue with the state party unit providing all inputs on the Governor, sources said.

Yeddyurappa on Thursday had said in Shimoga that he was writing to the President complaining that the Governor was interfering in the state affairs and exceeding the brief given to him. Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa said “several issues were coming out” concerning the Governor and that he would discuss the issues after the results of the zilla and taluk panchayat polls are out.”

In response to a question on his plans to shift to national politics, Yeddyurappa said he had discussed the issue with BJP National President Nitin Gadkari and would go along with the decision of the central leadership. Earlier this week, Yeddyurappa had stated that he would quit state politics after the next Assembly elections and shift to national politics.

Ananth-Radia link

To a query on senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar’s name being linked with the Radia tapes, Yeddyurappa said it was a conspiracy hatched by the Congress to divert attention from the public from its own misdeeds.
