The police are probing accused Bhanu Kiran’s links with the film world after aTelugu film producer, C Kalyan, told  sleuths that he knew Bhanu Kiran. The CCS police also interrogated Kalyan about Suri’s benami properties.

Kalyan claimed that Bhanu Kiran, Suri’s aide, had acted as a coordinator for Ram Gopal Varma’s flick, “Raktacharitra,” on the feud between slain Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Paritala Ravi and Suri. The police are now all set to call on Verma for questioning to look into possible diversion of Suri’s money into films by Bhanu Kiran.

While the investigation proceeds in fits and starts, the estranged wife of Suri made a sensational statement, contradicting the popular police theory that Bhanu Kiran killed Suri due differences that cropped up in financial dealings and deepening the mystery behind the murder.

Gangula Bhanumati, Suri’s wife who stays with his school-going son Harshavardhan Reddy in Bangalore, accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of having a hand in the murder of her husband.

Bhanumati told reporters that Naidu should own moral responsibility for the murder. “The family members of Paritala Ravi were behind the murder of my husband,” she said.

Bhanumati claimed that her husband had told her that he had threat to his life from Paritala Ravi’s followers, Pothula Suresh and Chaman. According to Bhanumathi, Paritala followers would fade into political oblivion if Suri had decided to enter politics.
Pothula Ramesh was arrested in Gujarat and Chaman is still at large. She demanded the government to hand over the case to CBI, distraught at the different murder theories churned out by Telugu channels about Suri’s murder.

The TDP, however, has a different take on the allegations of Bhanumathi, who it claims is joining Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s party.

Payyavula Keshav, a TDP legislator from Anantapur district, said, “it’s very strange that a wife who is living away from her husband for long is making such wild allegations.”
According to Payyavula, Jaganmohan Reddy had a role to play in Suri’s muder, as he did not want Suri to turn approver before the CBI court.

He wanted to stop Suri from taking the name of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy under pressure from the Congress and hence got the gangster killed.
