MCC team locks up sweetshop kitchen

Kitchens attached to reputed sweet makers, a mineral water making unit and a marriage choultry were among those inspected by the committee.

The committee locked the kitchen of Bombay Tiffanis off Sayyaji Rao Road, as it was appalled to see the unhygienic condition at the place. They gave a deadline of three days to the person in-charge to redo the area of working, especially to maintain cleanliness.

Another sweetmaker, Mahalakshmi Sweets in Chamundipuram, was asked to do some minor changes, in improving the hygienic conditions. A sample was collected from Aquaplus, a mineral water making unit at industrial suburb to be forwarded to laboratory for the related tests. Tripurasundari Choultry at the same industrial area was found complying with the environment friendly norms, disposing the waste on their own.

Members of the committee Ninganna, M V Ramprasad, Farida Begum, Kamala J Venkatesh and Shivanna, Health Officer Dr Nagaraj, Assistant Commissioner (Zone six) Thimmappa were also a part of the team.
