Jagadeesh posts comfortable win

After taking the opening game 21-3 in little time, Yadav was tested a bit in the second game but the youngster was still too good for Siddarth, clinching it 21-12 at the Sadashivanagar Club courts.

All the men, who advanced to the last-eight stage, posted impressive wins with none of them being stretched into a decider in the pre-quarterfinal clashes.  While Adarsh Kumar packed off Nishanth M 21-14, 21-18, Venkatesh Prasad had  to grind it out before posting a 21-18, 21-16 win over Ganesh G.

Meanwhile, GM Nischitha, Ruth Misha Vinod, Reshma Karthik and Varsha V Belawadi advanced to the women’s singles semfinals.

Nischitha crushed Keerthana 21-2, 21-9, Ruth battled past Sri Lakshmi 22-20, 21-9 and Reshma defeated Sangeetha Mari 21-10, 21-17. Varsha, however, didn’t have to take the court, receiving a walkover from Prakurthi.
