The Chief Minister decided to spend sometime with his coterie, besides fulfiling his wish to have a leisurely break for a while near ‘kalyani’ (small pond) at Suttur Mutt near foot the Chamundi Hills.

This was evident with the words of the chief minister himself, who stopped his car at the very sight of media persons who were standing in a corner, when the motorcade had just begun to follow.

He walked close to the scribes with a smile on his face. In an informal chat, he said “It has been my wish since long (alternates the word with ‘promise’) to spend some time near the Kalyani”.

Replying to another question, he said earlier on several occasions he has tried to spend some free time for a couple of days, away from the worrisome situations, but it wasn’t possible for more than a day.

“Peace and problems are complemantary results”, said the Chief Minister before walking towards his vehicle.

Colleagues join

He along with his cabinet colleague and Forest Minister C H Vijayashankar, Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) Chairman G T Devegowda, MLCs Prof K R Mallikarjunappa, S Siddaraju and  Thontadarya, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairman Nanjundaswamy, former MLA E Maruthirao Pawar among several others was seen chatting near the ‘Kalyani’ with munchies spread on the table, for over half-an-hour.

Local cops entrusted with the security duty, including the CM’s escort, had virtually sealed the area surrounding the Kalyani, to facilitate the VIPs have their time.

Strangely, Medical Education and District In-charge Minister S A Ramdas was away from that place, and was near the entrance greeting those, especially media persons who arrived at the mutt.

While Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta and Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal were also waiting for the Chief Minister.
