Fruit and flower show enthrals public

Flower show drew huge crowd in Chikmagalur. Varieties of flowers attracted the people. Bonsai trees were the centre of attraction at the venue.

The symbol of love made of roses attracted the attention of women and girls. Harishkumar of Shimoga had carved Puttaraju Gawai, Bheemsen Joshi, father of Horticulture Marigowda in water melon.

Taj Mahal was carved from fruits at the venue. The vegetables were carved to create three intelligent monkeys of Gandhi to say ‘don’t see bad,’ ‘don’t hear anything bad’ and ‘don’t speak bad.’ A mantapa made of peduncle was another attraction.

Hubli artist Shivalingappa Shibadigera’s rangoli was another attraction. He had drawn Kuvempu, Gandhi, Bheemsen Joshi in the form of Rangoli.

The farmers who grew fruits in and around Chikmagalur were exhibited. The expo was inaugurated by District-in-Charge Minister S Suresh Kumar.
