Speaking after reviewing the progress of all the districts of Mysore Revenue division at the office of regional commissioner here, the minister said the progress of this division is being done to overhaul the department as well as to make it pro active.

The issues such as speedy disposal of pending files in the department, status of drinking water in districts, shortage of fodder as well as cleanliness are being discussed.

It was found that there were plenty of problems in the division and all the deputy commissioners must take steps to solve the problems after discussion. Any unsolvable problems should be brought to the notice of the secretary, Department of Revenue, he added.

Reddy opined that no file would remain on tables for many days or months if regular checking of every table was done by senior officials.

Dispose files

Need of the hour was to dispose of the files without keeping them for long time.
There is responsibility on each and every employee working in the department to take pro active role and create healthy trend in order to improve its image from the people's point of view.

Of late, revenue department is being targeted for many things including delay in clearing of files, he added.

Numero uno

Reddy said Mysore district stands number one in the distribution of land records under the 'Bhumi' in the division. It has cleared all the files pertaining to land records because of which no application has been pending since last one and a half months.

Giving details, Rajiv Chawla, secretary of the department said the 'Bhumi Kendra' is regularly monitored by the deputy commissioner and in case of any problem it was being attended immediately and arrive at solution. The deputy commissioners of other districts should follow the suit, he added.

When Reddy said Dakshina Kannada district is first in land tax collection by achieving cent percent, the deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav said all his predecessors had been convincing people to pay tax promptly and that was the reason for the DK district to be number one in tax collection. Even people too voluntarily paid the tax on time, he noted.
