Women lock up GP office in Malur

The women who protested outside the Office with empty pots, demanded that the authorities concerned solve the drinking water crisis faced by the village.

Addressing the women, Block Youth Congress unit president Paap Reddy said that Doddashivara was facing drinking water crisis for the past three months.

However, the officials concerned and elected representatives of the region have not bothered to take any action in this regard.

The authorities have failed to take precautionary steps to solve the drinking water crisis before the on set of summer, said Reddy who added that the crisis had peaked even before the arrival of summer.

The drinking water crisis is increasing by the days putting residents to lot of hardships, Reddy said.
The gram panchayat on a temporary basis is supply drinking water through tankers. However, the supply is barely sufficient as the village has a population of 1,500 people, he added.

Reddy threatened to stage a massive protest in future if the authorities concerned didn’t take steps to alleviate the crisis.

Lakshmamma, Savitramma, Saraswatamma, Varalakshmamma, Manjunath, Harish, Srinivas Reddy, Nagaraj and others took part in the protest.
