Revanna charged with Rs 58-cr scam in KMF

Addressing a press conference at the Vidhana Soudha, Puttaswamy demanded that the government initiate criminal proceedings against Revanna.

Flaunting copies of documents purportedly proving the financial misappropriation, before mediapersons, Puttaswamy said the deputy registrar of co-operatives had submitted a report in connection with the irregularities that had taken place between 1995 and 2000 in the KMF, and recommended action against it.

The report was shelved by the coalition government of the Congess and the JD(S) in 2004, Puttaswamy said.

“It was the biggest gift by the Dharam Singh government to the family members of Deve Gowda,” said Puttaswamy. He added that the co-operation department would file a writ petition before a court on Monday.

The BJP government has started scrutinising the financial records of the KMF and many more irregularities have surfaced, according to Puttaswamy. He said the scam worth Rs 58 crore disproved to Revanna’s claims of probity in public life. He also charged Revanna with shifting land and money of KMF to a private trust.

“Despite being served with notices in this regard, Revanna had not replied to any,” said Puttaswamy.
