Activists want smooth passage for Jan Lokpal bill

Protesters urge for appointment of ombudsman in every district

The activists further demanded drafting of the Bill without any chaos and confusion for the consent of the parliamentarians.

The lokayukta should be vested with powers to vet into gram panchayat presidents to chief minister, besides appointing ombudsman in every districts to check rampant corruption that has pervaded almost all the government departments.

The protesters later took out a rally up to the office of deputy commissioner. Representatives of Mysore District Freedom Fighters Association, Dr Ramamanohar Lohia Trust, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike, Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) leaders participated in the stir.

Former speaker of Legislative Assembly Krishna, Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement Chairman Dr R Balasubramaniam, freedom fighters Basavanna Achar, Mysore district youth congress (Rural) president Dr B J Vijaykumar, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike President K S Shivaram, Samajvadi Party President B Karunakar, Prasanna of SICHREM, Mysore Kannada Vedike President Balakrishna, former corporator Venugopal and others were present.
