When cops are not leaving any stone unturned in polishing their ties with public, here is a concerned public who has done his mite in helping sentinels of the society.

R Suresh, has donated four banners to city police- three carrying awareness captions in rhymes in Kannada, penned by himself and another related to police only.

As the cops launched ‘Akshara Aarakshaka’ (cops survey to  identify school drop outs) and ‘Namma Mane’ (to bridge gap between police and public), a vigilant citizen in Suresh couldn’t keep himself. He pat thought of extending a helping hand to khaki, rather than waiting for them at doorsteps. Moreover, it was the duty of every citizen in ensuring education for all.

Proud about self, Suresh told City Herald, his thoughts flowed in the form of 17 captions, that made the banners complete in two hours. He also read a few lines- Akshara Kali Nanna Maguve, Akshara Kalithare Nee Naguve, Akshara Yaaradu Alla Swaththu, Akshara Kalithare Idakkinthalu Illa Sampathu... Likewise, every phrase begins with ‘Akshara’ coinciding with ‘Akshara Aarakshaka’.

A two-wheeler mechanic by profession, Suresh is a ITI holder in Automobile, besides second PUC in Commerce. He runs- Auto Craft, a garage, having expertised in only Honda make vehicles. Having a penchant for reading, especially newspapers, Suresh is abreast of happenings in the society. That was how, the poet in him also was born, he adds.

When child labour is allegedly rampant in garage and workshops, Suresh dispels the same, saying  ‘it’s not that easy to be a mechanic’. Vehicles with advanced technology needs mechanics to be educated, at least to study about the basics of wheels, and the methods practiced in plugging the errors.

Suresh was the president of City Central Two-wheeler Workshop Owners Association. He is mulling with the idea of sponsoring stickers carrying awareness messages, and distribute the same to all 1,000 odd garages in the city. He has a think tank of ‘25 bright’ men, mechanics again to plan and execute the novel ideas.

Not belonging to the tribe of those willing to bask in the glory of success for long, Suresh has planned to take out a rally against child labour, besides sponsoring banners consisting of the cell phone numbers of community police officers(CPO).

Bharti Airtel Ltd., sponsored cellphones and SIM cards were recently disributed to 800 CPOs. If the numbers are displayed station wise, it would be of great help to the public, Suresh adds.
