M A Ravindra are seen. DH PHOTO" align="left" />The plan will show how Mysore should be in 2030 like the city core area and special zone. This will help in checking the haphazard development of Mysore and going the Bangalore way, said district in-charge and Medical Education minister S A Ramdas.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Statecon 2011, the first Karnataka State Confederation of Real Estate Development of India convention, organised by Credai in the city on Saturday and said the copy submitted by Credai regarding various demands will be looked into and addressed after taking the people’s opinion.

He also said that a Housing and Development policy committee will be formed.

Appreciating the oath taken by the Credai committee members to adhere to the code of conduct, he however, pointed out that it was the builders and the contractors in the city who had violated the floor area ratio (FAR) to the extent of five per cent to 25 per cent and hence for the past four years completion report has not been given.

The skilled workers employed in the construction industry are mostly migrant labours from Orissa, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. It becomes the responsibility of Credai to generate employment for youth from rural areas in the State on a war footing by training them in many areas like bar bending, masonry, plumbing etc, he said.

Highlighting on the sand policy, he said by August second week it will be in place after a panel involving the deputy commissioner, corporation commissioner, Muda commissioner, Town Planning authorities and the Credia members will hold discussions.

The government and Credai should work together and such conferences are essential to make the path easier in the future to help plan the cities, said Forest and small scale industries minister C H Vijayshankar.

The kind of cities build by the British in New Delhi or the Maharajas in Mysore has never been able to be replicated after independence, he regretted and added that the kind of forest cover in countries like north America, Russia, Japan is all in the region of 55 per cent and above, whereas, Karnataka has just 29.5 per cent forest cover which he planned to take it to 33 per cent. Earlier, advisor to chief minister, Karnataka Urban Development  A Ravindra said, Mysore is still one of the most beautiful places and organisations like Credia have responsibility to see that it does not go the Bangalore way.

The vision 2020 for Mysore is a good idea to foresee and translate it into reality, he said.
Next to agriculture, it is the construction industry which generates maximum employment and it has tremendous opportunities in the future. Hence ,this industry has a great responsibility to build affordable homes for the poor class, he said.

Ravindra disclosed that an urban development policy had been prepared and it was awaiting the approval of the government. The tier-two cities like Mysore and Hubli-Dharwad will become one million cities and what was required was proper investment for their growth, he added.

Credai State president Sushil Mantri said the kind of bottlenecks the industry faces was mind boggling and demanded a single window clearance for the projects.

Mayor Pushpalata Chikkanna also spoke. Mysore Credai president M B Nagakumar, organising committee chairman V K Jagadish Babu and secretary S Prakash were present.
