Kani’s mother in Udupi
Rajathi Ammal, mother of DMK MP Kanimozhi, now lodged in the Tihar Jail in the 2G Spectrum scam, visited Krishna Mutt in Udupi on Monday.
Ammal, who visited the Mutt around 1 pm, paid obeisance to Lord Sri Krishna, visited the Shirur Mutt, and sought the blessings of Paryaya Shirur Lakshmivar Teertha.
The seer handed over a Krishna idol as “god’s offering” to Ammal and blessed her. Ammal, who was accompanied by an unidentified woman, left after a short while.
Sources said Ammal visited the Krishna temple to pray for the early release of her daughter Kanimozhi from jail.
Seer Paryaya Shirur Lakshmivar Teertha assured Ammal that her daughter would be absolved of all charges within 48 days.
The seer also asked Ammal to accompany Kanimozhi to the mutt once she was cleared of all charges, the sources added.
