Ramdev, who had demanded Chidambaram’s resignation for the death of Rajbala at a Delhi hospital after being lathi charged by police on the night his fast against corruption was ended by a police swoop at Ramlila grounds, instructed the beleaguered minister with tips usually found in his manuals. “Chidambaram should do kapalbhanti and anulom-vilom,” he said, referring to the two breathing postures said to enhance brain power and memory.
“He must do this for a few minutes every day… It will enhance his memory,” the yoga guru apparently said in response to the minister’s remarks that he had a shorter memory while asked about his offer of resignation in the wake of his differences with Pranab Mukherjee at a press conference. Ramdev, who is touring Uttar Pradesh to campaign against corruption, held Chidambaram responsible for the Ramlila swoop and “lathi charge” .
