“Teachers should discharge their duties with a commitment to ensure that their pupils have bright future. Teachers in foreign countries impart education to their students with the goal that he or she would lead the nation in future,” Shivayogiswamy said here on Tuesday. He was speaking after presenting district teachers’ award at Satyasai Institute of Education in Muddenahalli.

Students are the future of the nation and teachers should realise the trust reposed in them. A lackadaisical approach towards the job would cause harm to society.

Member of Legislative Council Y A Narayanaswamy said the wage disparity of teachers would be addressed by April next year. Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has promised to address all the problems of teachers, he said.

Legislator K P Bachchegowda, honorary secretary of Satyasai Institutions B N Narasimha Murthy, chairperson of Zilla Panchayat standing committee on education and health Manjula Venkatesh, ZP deputy secretary G Chandrappa, assistant commissioner Satish Kumar and others were present.
