The water quality testing process will be started at Belthangadi on a pilot basis, said District in-charge Minister J Krishna Palemar.

Addressing at the inaugural of Shrikrishna Hospital at Kakkinje in Belthangadi taluk on Sunday, Palemar said that our environment is being polluted through unscientific development works. Poeple fall prey to several diseases because of the environment pollution, he added.

He said that an MoU has already been signed between the government and an International organisation for the disposal of bio waste from hospitals in the state.
Accordingly, the work will be started soon, he added.

Palemar said that serving people in villages in the medical field is indeed a service to humanity.

Culture is being enlivened only in villages, he said adding that there is humanity in people of rural areas. Prof S Prabhakar inaugurated the hospital.
