Residents oppose road widening

The project proposes to widen the road by at least 40 to 50 feet on both sides and many residential and commercial buildings will be razed for the purpose. The affected residents including Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad, cine star-turned-politician Tara and former minister PGR Sindhia participated in a convention organised by the JP Nagar Citizens’ Association and the Ring Road Property Owners’ Association on Monday at JP Nagar. The BBMP has identified properties to be razed. Though notification has been issued to the residents, it will be implemented only in the next five to ten years.
