The proposed North-South line of Namma Metro between Gottigere and Nagavara under phase II will ensure greater connectivity between different parts of the City.

The new line is expected to have two integration points with Metro lines  and one each with a city bus station and a railway station.

Sources in the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said the integration with BMTC bus station and the railway station would be at Shivajinagar and Cantonment, respectively.

The two metro integration points, sources said, are proposed near Jayadeva Hospital and Mahatma Gandhi Road.

The line originates on an elevated platform at Gottigere, passing through Hulimavu Station and Bannerghatta Road in front of the Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore.

From here, the line will pass through JP Nagar IV Phase, BTM Layout and cross the flyover at Marenahalli near Jayadeva Hospital. The alignment will also cross another proposed line between RV Road Terminal and Bommasandra, with both the stations on these lines interconnected.

The alignment will cross Swagath Cross Road Metro Station and will go underground just before Dairy Circle. The alignment continues underground till Nagavara.

The underground alignment, sources said, will pass along Mico (Bosch), crossing the big drain from where it will take a left and then a right turn, going under the graveyard and beneath Hosur Road.

The line will then pass through Richmond Road (Vellara Junction), go under Brigade Road and cross the MG Road Station.

Sources said the underground station here will be close to the existing station, connected through escalators and stairs.

From here, the alignment will reach Shivajinagar through Cubbon Road (below the military area) and Infantry Road.

The Shivajinagar station will have connectivity with the BMTC terminal and from here, the line moves below Queen’s Road to reach Cantonment Railway Station, where the metro and railway stations will be integrated.

Moving beneath the railway line, the alignment will cross Millers Road, Nandidurga Road and reach Pottery Town before moving below Tannery Road, Salem Railway line and then the Outer Ring Road to reach Nagavara.
