The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Quality Council of India (QCI), New Delhi, to ensure quality standards in hospitals attached to the 38 medical colleges affiliated to the varsity.

The QCI is a national institute constituted to maintain standards in medical education and healthcare delivery system.

The MoU was signed by the RGUHS Vice-Chancellor, Dr Sriprakash K S, and the QCI General Secretary, Dr Giridhar Gyani. It will enable the QCI to organise awareness workshops for the core staff of hospitals attached to RGUHS-affiliated medical colleges.

The programme will help the hospitals to build capacity of their human resources and reinforce their infrastructure and quality processes, thus enabling them to apply for accreditation with the National Board for Accreditation of Hospitals (NBAH).
