GGSIPU sells over one lakh forms

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University sold over a lakh of admission forms for more than 20,000 seats of various courses for its 2012-2013 academic session. Majority of the forms were sold for the BTech course.

“About 1.65 lakh forms have been sold for 21,000 seats of different courses. We have received 80,000 forms in total for 5,500 seats of the BTech course,” said an official.

The date for sale and submission of forms for majority of the courses has ended on April 16.

“Submission of forms for a few weekend programs and MA courses, Mtech regular and correspondence and BArch are still on. Forms for super-speciality medical course and BArch can be submitted till May and June respectively,” said the official.

Compared to last year, there has been a marginal increase in the number of forms sold.

“Last year, the university had sold around 1.62 lakh forms, in which 26, 000 were sold online. This year it sold 1,29,232 application forms so far with 35,700 applications through online mode,” said the official.

The university started sale and submission of forms from January 20. Applying for courses online began from January 25.
