Kaniyoor mutt goes online

Kaniyoor mutt seer Vidyavallabha Swamiji unveiled the mutt logo and launched the mutt website here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vidyavallabha seer said that the logo has presiding deity Narasimha, Sri Krishna and Madhwacharya of Pajaka. The website will provide details on the preparatory programmes for the Paryaya Utsav and also will have photographs and news related to the mutt.  “I do not have any plans to build a new building during paraya.

However, about 50 books related to the characters in Mahabharatha will be printed. The books will have complete details on characters like Bheema, Arjuna, Krishna and so on. A sum of Rs 40 lakh will be utilised for the purpose. The work has already commenced. Once the books are printed, the public will be given at concessional rates to purchase the books.

The work on redesigning the ‘mukha mantapa’ of the mutt is under progress.

The work is being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 45 lakh. The work is likley to be completed by by next Narasimha Jayanthi. The mutt website is www.kaniyoorumatha.org

Kissan Sangha plans stir

Bharathiya Kissan Sangha, Udupi district, will stage a protest against the increase in wild animals manace in Malnad and coastal districts, in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office on May 16. 

According to a press release, the wild animals menace is on rise and the farmers are losing their valuable crops every year. On the other hand, the government has failed to initiate measures to check the wild animals menace. Owing to shortage of food inside the forest, the wild animals enter the villages insearch of food, stated the release.
