The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested two BBMP engineers from Rajarajeshwari Nagar and a contractor in connection with the multi-billion fake bills scam, on Thursday night.
However, during the crackdown three others gave the police a slip.
The arrested are Shivananda and Paramesh , both Assistant Executive Engineers, and Nagaraj, a contractor.
Probe ordered
The BBMP Commissioner Shankarlinge Gowda had directed the Technical Vigilance Cell (TVCC) to investigate the streetlights scam in the Palike.
Palike engineers allegedly have given wrong evaluation of tenders and secured the Commissioner’s approval, with regard to as many as 127 streetlight packages.
