Boloor Matha Amrithanandamayi Math in association with South Canara District administration and State Pollution Control Board will organise ‘Jana Jagruthi Jatha’ on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The rally will begin from Jyothi Circle at 8 am and would end at Town Hall. The rally will be followed by an awareness programme at Town Hall.
Addressing press, organising committee President Dr Jeevaraj Sorake said that the theme of the programme will be ‘worsening agricultural environment’. “Rally and the programme are aimed at creating awareness among public about environmental conservation, waste management and recycling,” he said.
Answering to a question regarding eco-toilet project of Amrithanandamayi Math, he said that the project plan of eco-toilets is complete and is waiting for DC’s approval.
