Deflecting pointed questions about his recent outburst against Congress high command and his subsequent meeting with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, a defeated looking Siddaramaiah was ambivalent in his responses.

Addressing the media after arriving from New Delhi on Wednesday, Siddaramaiah, who continues to be the CLP leader, said he had voiced his contentions to Sonia and the matter now rested with the high command.

He said he had conveyed to Sonia Gandhi that he was humiliated when he was not consulted during the selection process of the candidates for the MLC elections.
“When I told her (Gandhi) about this, she admited that some mistakes had been made by the KPCC,” he said.

He also rubbished speculations about him gunning for the KPCC president’s post.
Sources in the party said Siddaramaiah had been asked to continue in the post. Siddaramaiah has apparently suggested to the party leaders that the State president should be changed six months before the elections.

During his meeting with Sonia, Siddaramaiah is also learnt to have complained against Karnataka in-charge Madhusudan Mistry for neglecting him in the decisionmaking process.

KPCC president G Parameshwara said he was yet to speak to Siddaramaiah. “He is still our CLP leader, we haven’t accepted his resignation.”

He also said that there were no problems between him and Siddaramaiah.
