The annual music festival, celebrated by Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, was a huge hit among the music lovers of the City.

The two-day festival saw some very talented musicians come to the fore and gave them an opportunity to perform on a big and wide-reaching platform.A wide array of musicians had been lined up for World Music Day and each band had its own style and uniqueness.
The concert began at two in the afternoon and went on till about 8 pm and saw many music buffs enjoying the ambience.

The show was opened by ‘Soular Flare’ an electro-acoustic band. Their music had an eclectic mix of pop and Indian classical. With an amazing mix of tabla and the innovative use of sitar, coupled with some funky lyrics, they managed to stir up the audience as well as the ambience.

“It’s a musical treat and the best part is that we get to hear and watch so many artistes perform on a single stage. There are bands from different backgrounds and
different cultures,” says Mahesh, who had come for the festival.

‘Towards Eternity’, a band which really set the mood for the show, was a fresh and intriguing offering, with a combination of metal guitar riffs, screeches and clean vocals topped with some amazing raps.

It got a good response from the Bangaloreans who had come to watch the musical extravaganza. Each band had its own genre and was largely influenced by progressive rock and folk music. ‘Ugly Fungus’, an alternative band, had a tinge of progressive rock mixed with ethnic tunes.

“It’s a unique effort and so many young artistes have got the opportunity to showcase their talent. Moreover, we as the audience are getting to hear fresh talent and some good music. There is no better way to enjoy your weekend,” informs Dhruva, a member of the audience.

However, the highlight of the show was the performance by popular band ‘Galeej Gurus’, an alternative, funk, blues and rock band. Many had come to watch them perform and were waiting with bated breath for their performance.

“I have specifically come to watch ‘Galeej Gurus’ perform. I have heard them earlier and love the kind of music they play. I hope thay play some of my favourite numbers,” adds Natasha, who was clearly anticipating their performance.
