Broadcom eyes growth in India

Semiconductor solutions provider Broadcom said India’s telecom service providers’ segment is the fastest growing for the company.

Executive VP & General Manager for Infrastructure Networking Group Rajiv Ramaswami witha growth rate of 40 per cent, service providers segment is picking up on the need to handle increasing data as the 3G subscribers base in the country is expected to reach 30 million by year-end.

Much of the growth is happening in microwave backhaul, in which most Indian service providers are investing, he added. Besides global OEMs who have their R&D divisions in India, the company said demand for their networking technology is increasing amongst local OEMs as well.
