Ukraine’s Dynamo Kyiv gave a lesson in possession football to their Indian counterparts when they hammered Sports Hostel (Tamil Nadu) 6-0 to reach the final of the 53rd Subroto Cup here on Saturday.

They will now face MSP High School (Kerala) who are also making a maiden entry in the final of the competition.

Given the control and poise the visitors displayed in the semifinal, they would be difficult to stop.

Rostyslav Taranukha opened the scoring in the ninth minute and doubled the score in the 21st. The twin strikes opened the floodgates as Dmytro Zayikyn (27, 48) and Denys Kostyshyn (29, 59) scored a brace each to humble the Tamil Nadu boys.

Dynamo Kyiv coach Sergyi Bezhenar was elated with his team’s display and said there was no reason to think why they should not take the trophy home.

“The first match was difficult as we had to gauge the style and since then we have tried to modify our game. We are going to play to our strength in the final,” he said.
The coach said he would play the same combination in the final.

Result: FC Dynamo Kyiv: 6 (Rostyslav Taranukha 9th, 21st, Dmytro Zayikyn 27th, 48th, Denys Kostyshyn 29th, 59th) bt Sports Hostel (Tamil Nadu): 0.
