A delegation from Ghent University in Belgium is in the City to include well-known universities from Karnataka in its plan to promote education and knowledge sharing in the region.

The Universities of Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore and Dharwad, National Law School University of India, Amrita University, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University and Vaidel Group will sign stakeholder agreements with India Platform, an organisation established in 2008 by the foreign university for the purpose of facilitating academic collaboration. Governor H R Bhardwaj will host the signing ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

According to India Platform, the relationship will be on a ‘people-to-people’ basis rather than on ‘institution-to-institution’ basis and the main areas of co-operation will be in social sciences and humanities, medical sciences and medical care, agriculture and environment, urban planning and engineering and business and management.
