UB net rises 70%

Bangalore, DHNS: United Breweries Ltd (UBL) reported net profit of Rs 34 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012, 70 per cent more than Rs 20 crore in the same period last year. Standalone revenues at Rs 873 crore were up 18 per cent compared to Rs 740 crore on year-on-year basis. Revenues and net profit were lower compared to the first quarter ended June 30, 2012 of Rs 1,225 crore and Rs 99 crore. The UBL share closed at Rs 792.10 on BSE on Friday, up 0.39 per cent from its previous close.
