Body found off Manandavadi road; murder suspected

Carpenter of Malayalam film crew dies of heart attack

A 22-year-old youth was found dead near Manandavadi road in the city on Sunday night.

Police, who suspect it to be a case of murder have identified the deceased as Manjachari (25), a resident of Mahadevapura near J P Nagar.

He was an autorickshaw driver by profession. Investigators said that the deceased has suffered a deep wound on his chest cutting the ribs. A two-wheeler belonging to him with front portion of the same damaged has also been recovered near the spot.

Another who was riding pillion with him has gone missing. Police are on the lookout of the person to proceed with the investigation.

Vidyaranyapuram police have registered a case.

Man from Kerala

A carpenter belonging to Malayalam film crew has died of heart attack at a hotel in the city on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Anil (32) of Kannunore district in Kerala. He was working along with a 18-member team of carpenters to erect a set for the movie on the premises of a church opposite KSRTC sub-urban bus stand on Bangalore- Nilgiri road here. They had been staying at a lodge on the same road.

He complained of chest pain in the morning and the roommate had called for ‘108’ ambulance. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The shooting scheduled to start from Tuesday was cancelled following the incident, said a police.

Lashkar police have registered a case.

Battery thieves held

Bylakuppe police have arrested four men on charges of battery theft and have recovered the valuable worth Rs 48,000 from them.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Javed alias Javed, Farooq Sharief, Ismail and Nayeem Pasha.

The four had  stolen the batteries from a mobile tower installed at the field of Gaffar at Bylakuppe in the district recently. Following a complaint, police had formed a team led by circle police inspector of Periyapatna P V Venkatesh that busted the gang.

SP R Dileep, additional SP R B Mohan Reddy and Dy SP (Hunsur sub-division) Muddu Mahadevaiah supervised the operation, said a press release.
