Despite a dip in temperature, the number of dengue cases every day continue to hover around in the 30s in Delhi.
With 34 new cases reported on Wednesday, the total count has reached 1,546 in the city. Barring 2010, this is the highest number of official figures in the past six years. So far, four deaths have been confirmed by the municipal corporation.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation registered 15, North Corporation 10 and East Corporation 9.
Of the total 1,546 cases, 1,535 originated in Delhi, while 11 people with dengue infection came from other states. SDMC has recorded a total of 580 dengue cases, NDMC 519 and EDMC 380. The VIP area of New Delhi Municipal Council has recorded 36 cases this season.
Among various zones, Shahdara (south) zone in EDMC has highest figure at 202, followed by South zone in SDMC with 188. Sadar Paharganj and City zones in NDMC have a minimum number of cases at 21 and 30 respectively.
