Karbonn Mobile launches new phones in Bangalore
Karbonn Mobiles, a joint venture company of Bangalore-based United Telelinks and Jaina, on Wednesday, announced the launch of new mobile models K560 and K460.
K560 is a dual SIM handset with touch screen phone loaded with features like FM radio, recording, video player, 2.0 Megapixel Camera, A2DP Bluetooth, GPRS and an expandable memory upto 8GB and priced at Rs 5,000.
K460 is a slider phone with 300 hours battery stand by time and includes features like FM radio, recording, MP3 player, video player, camera, WAP, GPRS MMS and an expandable memory upto 8GB and is priced at Rs 4,000.
Cricket sponsorship
Karbonn mobiles, launched in March 2009, currently has over 1.5 million consumers and 500 service centres across India. It plans to invest Rs 100 crore within next 12 months for marketing activites.
Apart from Cape Cobra the company is also sponsoring another South African Cricket team called ‘Diamond eagles’. “Other than India we have presence in Bangladesh and now planning to enter the Sri Lankan and South African market.” Currently, the company outsources its manufacturing to contract manufacturers, and plans to manufacture chargers and batteries from its centre in Bangalore by November 2009.
