Muzumdar becomes highest run-getter

And-hra’s Amol Muzumdar became the highest run-getter in Ranj Trophy during the course of his hundred (101) against Himachal Pradesh in a Group C match in Nadaun.

The 38-year-old, who moved to Andhra this season, started the game 68 behind Wasim Jaffer’s record of 8320 runs. He has now 8353 runs and reclaimed a record he had earlier held before Jaffer overtook him.

Other Ranji brief scores: Group A: At Kolkata: Gujarat: 230/6 in 73 overs (Smit Patel 67, Parthiv Patel 61, Manprit Juneja 41, Rakesh Dhurv 38 batting; Sourav Sarkar 3-57) vs Bengal.

At Bhubaneswar: Railways: 193/7 in 74 overs (Nitin Bhille 41, Ashish Yadav 34, Krishnakant Upadhyay 32 batting, Parag Mohan Madkaikar 30; Manpreet Gony 2-20, Sandeep Sharma 2-32, Siddarth Kaul 2-62) vs Punjab.


At Hyderabad: Saurashtra: 251/7 in 90 overs (Sheldon Jackson 67, Bhushan Chauhan 47, Jaydev Shah 47, Kamlesh Makvana 26 batting; Ashish Reddy 4-52) vs Hyderabad.
