Young entrepreneurs to get financial help

Youths from Kolar and Chikkaballapur can avail loans up to Rs 25 lakh to help them start a small enterprise. The revelation was made by K H Muniyappa, the Union Minister for Small Industries, after inaugurating a programme organised at Narasimhatirtha in Mulbagal on Saturday.

The programme had been organised by self-help groups and womens’ organisations in association with the Micro, Small and Medium Industries Development Organisation

“Bank officials have been warned against hesitating to give loans to youths who want to start small enterprises. I will conduct a meeting with bankers every month and will collect details on loans availed,” he said and added that he will make an effort to provide a market at district centres for raw materials.

“Currently, 40 per cent of products from small industries is being exported to foreign countries,” he said. He also promised to complete all project which he had started when he was the State Minister for Railways.

Speaking on the water crisis, he said that, “The Yettinahole project will not solve water problems in the districts. So I am extending complete support to implement the Paramashivaiah report on permanent irrigation.”

Speaking on the occasion, Legislator Amaresh said that, both Kolar and Chikkaballapur are drought-hit districts.

He requested the Minister to extend help for youths and self-help groups to start enterprises. Block Congress president G Ramalingareddy, Shabanaz and others were present.
