Widening of Suranjan Das Road picks up pace

Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy has said that the shifting of utilities such as water, cable and sanitary lines on Suranjan Das Road will be completed within 45 days, to widen the stretch.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, after inspecting the road-widening work, Murthy said at least six pipelines needed to be shifted, at a huge  at a cost of Rs six crore. The Mayor handed over a cheque for Rs 2.5 crore to BWSSB Engineer-in-Chief Venkataraju on Tuesday.

He told  reporters that a ground-level reservoir had been constructed in the C V Raman Nagar Assembly constituency.

Once the utilities were shifted, it would become easy to supply 4th phase and 2nd phase Cauvery water to the residents. MLA S Raghu said that the Suranjan Das Road will be made four-lane.
