Beach festival in Ullal from Nov 24

Mangalore, Nov 22, 2012, DHNS:

As a part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala, the Silver Jubilee Committee in association with Ullal Beach Festival Committee will be organising Ullala Beach Festival 2012 at Ullala on November 24 and November 25.

On the occasion, the new building for Government Aided Mogaveera Higher Primary School will also be inaugurated.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, President Bharath Kumar said that on the first day, at 5 pm entrepreneur G Shankar will unveil the school name while Yojaka Private Limited Managing Director Jagadeesh Boloor will inaugurate the Ground floor. MRPL Managing Director P P Upadhya will be inaugurating the first floor the school.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will open beach fest while Deputy Commissioner Dr Channppa Gowda will release the special souvenir.  MLA U T Khadar will preside over the function. Yenepoya University Chancellor Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi, KIOCL Director K Subba Rao, Mogaveera Sangha President Sadananda Bangera and many others will participate.

Awards

As a part of the programme, ‘Green champion’ Salumarada Thimmakka, ‘Akshara Santha’ Harekala Hajabba, Shanthala Prashasti awardee Ullal Mohan Kumar will be honoured with ‘Maruthi Sadhaka Prashasthi’. Meanwhile, ‘Maruthi Yuva Prashasti’ will be given to artist Vilas Nayak, Cricketer Nihal Ullal and agriculturist Prathibha Shetty.

Varieties

Bharath Kumar informed that Rs 30 lakh will be spent for beach festival. On November 24, Kabaddi competition will be organised for men while beach throw ball will be held for women. Water sports, amusements, kite show, painting will be organised on the day followed by musical evening by music composer and singer Vijayprakash.
