Two people, a call centre employee and a caterer, were killed in separate road accidents in the City early Sunday morning.

Sheikh Amina, 25, a native of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh was employed at a call centre. She was struck by a speeding car and knocked onto the path of a BMTC bus, while she was crossing the road in front of CBI office near Ganga Nagar on Bellary Road.

Amina was crushed under the wheels of the bus. The accident occurred when she was on her way to KR Puram for work.

R T Nagar Traffic Police rushed to the scene and arrested the drivers of the car and the BMTC bus. Police said that the car was proceeding to Bengaluru International Airport. Heavy mist in the area led to the accident, police said.

An autopsy was conducted at M S Ramaiah Hospital, before the body was handed over to Amina's younger brother, Noor Mohammed.

According to police, Amina had moved to the City two years ago and had been living at a paying-guest accommodation.

In the other incident, a caterer died after he crashed his bike into a parked oil tanker on the Horamavu Outer Ring Road in the early hours of Sunday.

Veerendra, 36, a resident of Devasandra, KR Puram was on his way to Peenya for work early Sunday morning, when the accident occurred.

An oil tanker, with a punctured tyre, had been parked on the left side of the road near a blind curve on the road.
