The Labour department has ignored problems faced by women employees in call centers, factories and companies across the State, the Karnataka Legislature Women and Child Welfare Committee said.
The Committee, headed by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Seema Masuti, in its report to the House has stated that it was commonly known that female employees were being exploited by their employers.
With a large number of complaints being received from Bangalore City and Rural district, the Committee has recommended that Labour department officials, (from the rank of joint commissioner and below) who have been working in Bangalore City and Rural for ten years or more should be transferred immediately. The government should depute officers from other districts in their places, it added.
