Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Valyapure tendered his resignation to the post of minister on Saturday.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Valyapure, who was in Hubli on Saturday, said he had sent his resignation letter to the chief minister’s office through fax.  Due to some technical problems, the CM’s office could not receive his letter. He said he would send it  again to the CM’s office on Sunday.

Valyapure, a Dalit and one of the close associates of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, said he was going to Davangere to meet Yeddyurappa, who was  there to attend a marriage, and would later leave for Haveri.

He said, as he would be attending the KJP convention being held in Haveri on Sunday, he had tendered his resignation. He is a second-time MLA from Gulbarga district.
