Honour killing: Victim's brother meets Aamir

Elder brother of slain Abdul Hakim, a victim of honour killing in the district, today claimed actor Aamir Khan has assured all possible help to the his family.

Shakir, who returned from Mumbai last night, said today he met Aamir two days back.

He said the actor has assured all possible help and also took the account number of Hakim's wife to provide monetary help to the bereaved family.

Hakim and his wife Mehwish had appeared in an episode of TV show 'Satyamev Jayate', hosted by Aamir.

Both belonged to different social strata had married against the will of their family.

Mehwish claimed that it was a case of honour killing as they had married against the wishes of her parents.

"The actor has sent silver bangles, clothes for children and dry fruits for Mehwish," Shakir said, adding, "the widow's bank account number was also taken by Aamir who assured financial help."

All the five accused have been arrested for the honour killing of Hakim, who was shot dead on November 22 on GT Road here.
