Winter marks the end of a year and welcomes the new year. Delhi tourism, in association with Sahitya Kala Parishad conducts Sharad Utsav in the month of December and it is known to be one of the most delightful events in Delhi’s calendar.

Delhi Tourism spokesperson Sudhir Sobti explained, “Delhi enjoys variations in weather, festivals, food etc. in all seasons. We thought why not bring that festivity to the door-step of people. When people start celebrating a natural phenomenon like seasonal change with music, dance etc., the enjoyment becomes double-fold.”

This year, Sharad Utsav kept its promise to enchant the audience with power packed performances by Cipher Band from Delhi and Master Salim (Punjabi pop singer) from Jalandhar. Cipher band belted out songs from the hit movie Rockstar, Once Upon a Time and all the chartbusters of Mohit Chauhan. Master Salim who is famous for creating magic with Bollywood songs created a special Bollywood medley that had songs from Bollywood’s big hits.

Further, there were folk dance performances by Rajasthani dancers and then a street-food court most enjoyed by kids. The court included many varieties of chaat, papdi, gol-gappe, tikki etc.. Lastly, there was also a special photo studio where visitors clicked pictures with their loved ones.

Colourful lanterns of myriad colours added to the overall ambience of the event. The visitors enjoyed the evening as it was a perfect getaway where they enjoyed with friends and family. The atmosphere at the Utsav was enthralled with myriad affirmation of fun, frolic and dance.
