Three-day fast to demand scribe's release

Members of the Forum Against Illegal Arrest of Journalists have planned a three-day fast to protest the arrest of journalist Naveen Soorinje in the Mangalore home-stay attack case.

Member Ravi Krishna Reddy said on Friday that journalists from districts like Dharwad and Shimoga will join the fast at Freedom Park on Saturday. “It is no longer prudent to remain silent in the face of serious injustices against journalists,” he said. The Forum is an association of journalists, writers and citizens in the State.
