A pack of stray dogs attacked and killed a herd of 12 sheep which were kept at a pen in Goripalya Layout in Devanahalli Town on Saturday night.

According to the owner of the sheep, Bajappa, the animals were locked in the pen at around 6:30 pm on Saturday, after they were brought back from grazing.

“The shelter is located between a collapsed wall and ceiling which was packed with plastic sheets and coconut branches. The stray dogs entered the pen from the thatched roof,” he said.

“In today’s prices, a sheep costs nearly Rs 5,000 and I have suffered a loss of Rs 60,000. Whom should I approach for my compensation” Bajappa asked. Some of the killed sheep belonged to Sarvajnappa.
