Student crushed under train wheels

 Three people, including a Class 10 student, were killed in separate railway accidents on Saturday and Sunday.

Ranjith, 15, was crossing the track at Malleswaram, when  he was hit by a speeding train. A resident of Rajajinagar, Ranjith had enrolled himself for tuition at Subramanya Nagara.
He was on his way, with friends, to a trip arranged by the tuition centre. He had tried to cross the tracks at around 10 pm to answer the call of nature, police said. He was rushed to a hospital at Yeshwanthpur, but was declared dead by doctors.

In a second incident, Rangappa, 62, a retired employee of the employment exchange, allegedly committed suicide on Sunday afternoon by stepping into the path of an incoming train. Police believe he was suffering from depression. They added that all of Rangappa’s children are living abroad.

In another accident, residents informed local police Sunday morning that a man’s body was found near the Kengeri railway track.

The police, who examined the victim’s body, found a contact number in the shirt pocket. The number, belonged to a friend of the deceased who identified the victim as Vasu, 40. The police, who are still uncertain about the reaon for death, are investigating.
