Udupi BJP unit releases candidates' list

Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat released the list of 35 BJP candidates for the Udupi CMC polls to be held on March 7.

Speaking to media persons, the MLA said as many as 20 members of the previous council have been retained.

These members include Panduraga Malpe, Vijaya Kunder, Indira Shekar, Narayana, Geetha N Sherigar, Ramesh Nayak, Dinakar Shetty Herga, Sumithra R Nayak, Mahesh Thakoor, Sandhya S Nayak, Laxmi Sherigar, Naveen Bhandari, Pradeep Kunder, Prabhakar Poojary, B Ravi Ameen, Shyamprasad Kudwa, Geetha Ravi Shet, Yashpal Suvarna, M R Pai and B Vasanthi Shetty, he said

The MLA expressed his confidence that  BJP will win more than 30 seats. BJP has the benefits of the development work taken up by the State government and also CMC in the past 10 years.

The corrupt-free governance of Udupi CMC will be an added eligibility of the BJP to win maximum number of seats.

Congress had entirely corrupted the system and BJP after gaining the power in Udupi CMC started off its work with cleansing the corrupt deeds of Congress, he said and added that the Congress is sending wrong messages to the public by spreading rumors against BJP that they are involved in corruption.

However, there is no documentary evidences with Congress to prove it, he added.
The list of candidates comprises of Panduranga Malpe (Kola), Sharmila (Vadabhandeshwara), Vijaya Kundar (Malpe Central), Chandravathi Kotian (Kodavoor), Indira Shekar (Kalmadi), Nithyanda Shetty (Moodabeettu), Sowmya Vishwanath Poojary (Kodankoor) Rashmitha B Shetty (Nittur), Narayana (Subramanya Nagara) Chinmayamurthy (Gopalpura), Ratna Poojary (Kakkunje), Geetha Sherigar (Karamballi),  Ramesh Nayak (Moodupermapalli), Nalini Naik (Saralabettu), Dinaker Shetty (Shettybettu), Sumithra Nayak (Parkala), Mahesh Thakoor (Eshwar Nagara), Narasimha Nayak (Manipal), Sandhya S Nayak (Moodusagari, Suvardhan Nayak (Indrali) Laxmi Sherigar (Indiranagar), Ramachandra Tantri (Badagabettu), Naveen Bhandari (Chitpadi), Pradeep Kunder (Kasturbanagar), Ramesh Sherigar (Kunjeebettu),  Ranjani Vasanth (Kadiyali), Prabhakar Poojary (Gundibailu), Ravi Ameen (Bannanje),  Shyam Prasad Kudwa (Tenkapete),  Geetha Shet (Olakadu), Ganesh U (Bailur), Devdas Shettygar (Kinnimulki), Yashpal Suvarna (Ajjarkadu) M R Pai (Sheeribeedu) and Vasanti Shetty (Ambalpadi).
