BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah, on Monday, alleged that Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force Chief R P Sharma registered a case against him for not allotting a site to the latter in Visveswaraya Layout.

BMTF registered a case against Siddaiah for allegedly giving Occupancy Certificate (OC) to two builders who not only violated sanctioned building plan, but also encroached canals and major stormwater drains. Irked by this, Siddaiah accused Sharma of indulging in personal vendetta.

In a letter to Chief Secretary, S V Ranganath, Siddaiah said he was ready for a Lokayukta probe, claiming he had given the OC only after consulting the legal department and officials of estate department.

Siddaiah said when he was BDA Chairman, Sharma had applied for a 60ft x 40ft site at Visvesvaraya Layout. In his application dated August 19, 2003, Sharma had stated that he has been living in the State for the last 15 years and neither he, his wife nor his family members had any site in Bangalore.

“While reviewing his application, we learnt that his wife Nagalambika Devi had got a site in 1998 in the fourth sector of HSR Layout. Hence, we rejected his application and seized the money deposited,” Siddaiah said.
