Residents of Shillangere staged a protest and accused the staff at SNR Hospital in the taluk of negligence, of causing the death of a woman.
Vinoda, 20, of Shillangere was admitted at the hospital after she consumed poison. She was taken to the emergency ward.
“The doctor instructed the nurses to give proper treatment. But they did not heed to the instruction and did not attend to my daughter. “This has led to her death,” complained victim’s father Manjunath.
District surgeon Dr Sridharmurthy, spoke to the protesters and promised them of action if any staff of the hospital is found to have shown negligence towards their duty.
Despite his promise, residents were not convinced and they started arguing with the surgeon.
Later, City Circle Inspector Jagadish, Sub Inspector of Police Chandrappa and staff came to the spot and took the situation under control.
